Edin Whitehead
Edin Whitehead is a 3rd generation bird obsessed photographer and who combines this with her work as a seabird scientist which takes her to many remote islands. Her blog www.edinz.com covers some of these adventures. She has been very successful in competition being D-Photo Amateur Photographer of the Year 2014 and NZ Geographic Young Photographer of the Year in the same year. Since then she has been a finalist in NZ Geographic Photographer of the Year 4 times, winning Peoples Choice in 2020. She co-authored and provided the photography for The Brilliance of Birds – A New Zealand Birdventure published by Penguin in 2023 and is work on her next book due for publication in 2026. Edin is a NikonNZ Creator and was the face behind the global launch of the Nikkor Z 800mm f6.3 VR S.
