Titokorangi and Whakarewarewa Forest, also known as The Redwoods, is a magnificent 5,600-hectare forest area five minutes’ drive from the centre of Rotorua.
The numerous trails are a mecca for walkers, mountain bikers, horseback riders.
Giant Californian redwoods, New Zealand’s famous silver fern, and native bush undergrowth provide an amazing scenic backdrop.
The Forest offers several walking tracks of varying lengths and difficulty levels.
Requirements: Dress in light layers so you can adjust to the temperature and activity level. Wear sensible walking shoes.
