Harbour Cruise
Harbour Cruise (Ripapa and Quail Islands)
Travel by bus to Lyttleton and board a boat to explore and photograph historic Fort Jervois on Ripapa Island. Built in 1886 as part of a defence system against a feared Russian invasion, later used as a quarantine station and a prison. Fort Jerviois is the most complete remaining “Russian Scare Fort” left. Board, again, the boat to visit Ōtamahua / Quail Island which was originally farmland, a quarantine station, hospital and then leper colony. Spend a couple of hours exploring, eat packed lunch on the island before returning via bus to St Margarets in time to register for the Convention.
