Hamurana Springs Nature Park
Hamurana Springs is a taonga (treasure) to the people of Ngāti Rangiwewehi, whose association with this land goes back to the mid 1300’s.
Hamurana sits on the northern side of Lake Rotorua. Today Hamurana Springs is a nature park and wildlife refuge.
Journey through nature as you take a riverside walk through a Californian Redwood and native forest grove to the deepest natural spring in the North Island.
The reserve is home to many bird species including black teal, scaup, herons, ducks, geese and dabchick.
